The first rites of solemn initiation into warriors existed already in the era of Charlemagne (VIII century AD), although the very concept of chivalry, inextricably linked with a certain rite of passage already established by that time, arose much later - in the 11th century. It is not surprising that such a person instilled awe in the impoverished peasant of medieval Europe, who was often subjected to severe oppression by local feudal lords. Under these conditions, only a warrior, a strong and fearless person, able to overcome vast distances on his faithful warhorse, dressed in armor shining in the sun (by the way, weighing more than a dozen kilograms), could restore order, punish the offenders and punish the guilty. e., when the vast territory of the once mighty Roman Empire was attacked by the barbarian cavalry of the Goths from the north, and together with a huge army, the power of the harsh and merciless Roman law fell, giving way to anarchy and arbitrariness. The ethical code of a modern young man has been formed for more than one century.
